Future employers? Potential clients? Hand-knit sweater buyers? Your mom?
This question sounds simple, but there's really a lot more to it. Or, another way to put it is: coming up with a simple answer to that question is not easy.
Take Skillcrush, for example. We want everyone to visit our site! Ladies, gentlemen, kids, Corgis...
But how do you design a site for everyone? Is it even possible?
It may be possible, but it's a terrible idea! So you need to pick one person you want to reach and design it JUST for him or her. And as long as you don't do something silly like write "Hi Sally in Chicago! This site is ONLY for you. ;)" across the top, you'll end up with an incredible design that actually speaks to several people who also want to talk to you.
Today, you'll start to figure out who your ideal user is, and anticipate what they want from you and how they'll move across your site to get it. Then, you'll map out their perfect path to get at all the good stuff! Because a happy user is your #1 goal.
Let's dive in, shall we?
