CAREER TRACK

Ruby on Rails Developer

Welcome to the Ruby on Rails Blueprint!

We are so excited to get started! We can't promise it will be easy, but we CAN promise that it will be fun. :)

So before we dive in, I want to make sure you are prepared for something, something BIG: No coding in the browser!

Okay, this isn't 100% accurate because some of you will be using Codio, an awesome in-browser coding application for Ruby. But, for the most part, you'll all be learning how to use your terminal applications to exact supreme control over your computer.

What I mean is this: For most of Ruby, we're going to be using our terminals (or "the command line") to talk to Ruby and run our Ruby scripts.

Don't get too concerned about the details of this just now though. We'll walk you through it step-by-step when the time comes. In fact, tomorrow we'll teach you all about the command line, and we'll help you install Ruby on your own computer.

And, for you PC users, there's finally some good news: You have it so easy when it comes to installing Ruby. And, for you Mac users... I apologize ahead of time! :)

Let's get started!
