Now that you are a REAL developer, you have experienced one of the big, wonderful developer secrets: oftentimes, your job is to install crazy weird complicated programs on your computer that make you feel like you might break your computer!
And maybe you WILL break it, but just for a little while before you get it working again. It’s scary and thrilling and oh so fun, don’t ya think??
The more you approach these types of processes with a sense of adventure (and not dread) the better developer you will be and the more FUN you will have.
And that’s what it’s all about, right? It’s cool to make good money, have a flexible work situation and do your own thing but what’s REALLY cool, is enjoying what you do.
So if you had a rough install or already behind in your lessons, try not to worry about it too much. It'll all work out! Let's all raise our arms in one collective HOORAH!
And then get back to the task at hand, which is exploring the WordPress admin :)
